What About The Rest? (Ter,Ben,Moose) Naturally,
not all of the rabbits we have rescued over the years have turned out to be good
candidates for adoption. Some of the
buns we’ve taken in have health challenges (congenital, chronic or temporary)
or have been through such tragedy that we have offered them sanctuary status–
permanent housing and care within our private foster homes.
(The buns who do regain their health or surpass their challenges will be
filtered back into our Center.) For
sanctuary rabbits and special needs rabbits, it is important to us that they be
in a home environment where they have all of the love and care and attention
possible- basically, we are adopting them ourselves!
It is also important to us that anyone who might be considered contagious
by our bunny vet not be in the same space as our healthy, adoptable buns.
Besides the home of our founder and director, our super-duper fosterers
Terry and Christian have sponsored and cared for any bun and every bun with
short- or long-term illnesses or challenges.
This is no small undertaking! We
give a very, very special thank you to Chris and Terry G. for the safe haven
they offer these special buns and for the tenderness, dedication,
and insight, plus the supply of medications, vet visits, and all-nighters
often required. |
