Adoptable Rabbits!

Thinking about getting a pair of bunnies or expanding your current furry family?  It's a terrific idea!  Rabbits are social animals and naturally live in big groups.  Once you have witnessed multiple rabbits snuggling and grooming each other, you will never want to have a single rabbit again.  Rabbits who travel, board or visit the vet together, are less stressed than single rabbits who experience these events alone.  Single rabbits tend to be more lonely, even if surrounded by people or other animals.
We have many rabbits ready to go to their forever home right now.  All of our available bunnies are spayed or neutered, vaccinated against the RHDV (Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus) and range in age from 8 months to seniors.  Call or email us to inquire about our adoption services at (818) 988-4488 or bunnyluv@bunnyluv.org.

Why Adopt from BunnyLuv?

Los Angeles city and county shelters are overflowing with unwanted rabbits.  When space becomes an issue, these animals are euthanized to make room for the new animals coming into their system.  BunnyLuv works with these high-kill shelters and takes in at-risk rabbits as space opens up at our shelter.
By adopting a rabbit from BunnyLuv, you are giving the gift of life and creating space for us to save more!
If that's not enough reason to adopt from BunnyLuv Rabbit Resource Center, consider these extra benefits:

  • Our rescued rabbits are have been spayed/neutered, healthy, socialized and litter-box trained. They are ready for your home.
  • With over 2200 successful "Luv Connections" to date, we specialize in facilitating the often difficult bonding process for your rabbits.
We offer help and guidance throughout the transition of your new rabbit group at home, and we are available afterwards,  should you need our help in any area of rabbit care.
Adoption Process

We do have a vigorous  adoption process. We love all the bunnies who come through our doors and want to make sure they have the best lives possible. Our adoption process starts with filling out our adoption application. This can be done online or in person at our shelter. This is followed with a home check by one of our staff or volunteers. We are not judging your decor, but do want to see where your current bunny lives or where you would like to set up your new bunnies. We give advice on bunny-proofing and talk to you about diet and care. Once approved, you can choose a bunny (or two) to be bonded to the bunny you already have or take an already bonded pair home.

If one of our bunnies is to be a companion to your bunny, then we will match and bond the pair. This bonding service is included in the adoption fee.

Adoption Policies

Primary Caregiver.  When a rabbit is adopted from BunnyLuv Rabbit Resource Center, the primary caregiver must be a responsible adult.  The rabbit should be treated as an integral part of the family.  We do NOT adopt out rabbits as pets for children or for classrooms.
Indoor HousingAdopters of BunnyLuv Rabbit Resource Center must understand that our rabbits are to live as household companions.  This means that they must have their living space indoors, and must spend every night indoors.  Additional safety precautions may be required and will be determined at the time of the home visit.

Social Requirements.  It is our strong belief rabbits need other rabbits in their daily lives, in addition to their humans.  For this reason, BunnyLuv does not adopt rabbits to live as single animals.  We specialize in rabbit introductions and will help you to expand your family.
ReturnsIf there are significant problems with the adopted rabbit, the adopter needs to give us advance notice.  All rabbits adopted from this agency must be returned to this agency in case of insurmountable problems that prevent the adoption from being permanent.
Adoption feesOur adoption fee is a $105 donation for one rabbit, $175 for a pair and $200 for a trio.  Adoption fees are donations that cannot be refunded.  We are a federally recognized tax-exempt, non-profit organization, and donations made to us are no more refundable than they are to any other public charity.
If you would like to hear more about adopting a second or third (or fourth or fifth...) rabbit from BunnyLuv, please call us at (818) 988 4488 or email bunnyluv@bunnyluv.org.
